The Importance of Reproductive
Health and Social Education

Avoid negative health consequences

  • The most significant factor in the need for reproductive health and social education is that it would educate the youth about the implications they will receive if they are engaged in any sexual activity.
  • They will learn the skills on how to protect themselves and will have clearer health goals which will help prevent themselves from STDs, HIV and/ or pregnancy.

Understand, respect and have the power over their bodies

  • Reproductive health and social education not only teaches the fundamentals of puberty and development, but also instills young people with the ability to decide what behaviours they are engaged in and saying no to unwanted sexual activity.
  • Furthermore, reproductive health and social education helps them to determine the forces that lead to a positive or negative view of the body.

Secure and protect their academic excellence

  • If young people understand and have good knowledge on reproductive health and social education, it would protect them from facing health problems or accidental pregnancy that can stress them out and affect their studies.
  • Furthermore, lack of reproductive health and social education can also lead to absenteeism and dropout.
